CGB Term of the week- 'SCORES'

    SCORES is the acronym for SEBI Complaints Redress System. SCORES is a centralized grievance system (launched by SEBI in the year 2011) which allows the investors to lodge complaints/grievances and track the status of redressal of such complaints online through SCORES is web enabled and can be accesses 24 hrs a day. The investor can track the status of his/her complaints using the unique complaint registration number provided to him by the website while registering the complaint. The entity against whom the complaint is received, will be provided with details of the complaint and will be asked to upload Action Taken Report (ATR) online into the portal within prescribed period. All listed companies shall redress the grievances of investors within 30 days of receipt of the complaints. Failure of companies to file 'Action Taken Reports' under SCORES within 30 days of date of receipt of grievance, will attract provisions of Section 15 A(a) of the SEBI Act , 1992. The entity shall to the possible extent contact the investor for redressal of complaints. Where SEBI is satisfied about the action taken by the entity to protect the investor’s rights under the Securities laws, then it would consider the same as redressed.
